1st Summer School on 5G Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) across Europe

Two major EU-supported CCAM projects, 5GCroCo (https://5gcroco.eu/) and 5G-ROUTES (https://www.5g-routes.eu/), have teamed up to organize the 1st Summer School on challenges and technologies for a 5G Connected Automated Mobility across Europe. The Summer School will be hosted by EURECOM in Sophia-Antipolis, France.

This event is a great occasion for young researchers and undergrad students to get insights on challenges of 5G for CAM in cross-border scenarios from senior researchers with academic or industrial background. Moreover, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students will have the chance to present their ongoing work and to discuss it with other colleagues and experts.

In this context, we call for extended abstracts for a Poster Session targeting the presentation of initial or consolidated results of young researchers. The poster session will be held during the 1st day (May 23) of the Summer School in a 2-hour slot; participation may be in person or virtual.

Jorge Pereira, Principal Scientific Officer at the European Commission, will give the 5G-X-EU opening keynote while Miquel Payaró, 5GCroco coordinator, and Kristjan Kuhi, 5G-ROUTES coordinator, will introduce both projects. The school will have 6 technical sessions based on the work carried out in both projects.

1st Open Call for SMEs, start-ups and spin-offs for CAM testing

The 1st 5G-ROUTES Open Call has been officially announced and starts on the 15th of March 2022! The 5G-ROUTES project invites 3rd party SMEs and spin-offs to submit a draft proposal of a CAM service that they would like to bring the CAM service for testing in one of the two cross corridor places of Bikiernecki or Valga-Valka in the border of Estonia-Latvia. The Open Call #1  starts on March 15th of 2022 for testing CAM services in the period of May 1st – May 15th 2022 and will involve a 5G NSA infrastructure in the above places, while open Call #2 will be announced in 2023 when the 5G SA infrastructure is set-up and provided in the above places.

Both Open Call rounds will aim at providing the infrastructure for the interested SME parties to bring short proposals describing their CAM services that will enhance 5G-ROUTES test cases. Call proposals are expected to enhance the CAM services that will be tested by the 5G-ROUTES partners.
